Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager

About the Role:As a Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of High Net Worth Individuals (HNI) and Ultra-HNI clients. You’ll provide tailored wealth management, investment advisory, credit, and other banking solutions. You will also be responsible for expanding the client base through referrals, networking, and cross-selling, while ensuring compliance, risk controls, and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and nurture relationships with HNI / Ultra-HNI clients, understanding their financial goals, risk tolerances, investment preferences, tax planning, and estate planning needs.

  2. Sell and cross-sell banking products including investments (mutual funds, equities, fixed income), insurance, wealth planning, credit (personal & business), and alternative investment opportunities.

  3. Achieve monthly / quarterly targets for portfolio growth, AUM increase, revenue generation, and customer acquisition.

  4. Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, assess market trends, and suggest reallocations or new investment ideas to clients.

  5. Ensure all KYC, AML, regulatory compliance, and risk management policies are strictly followed.

  6. Coordinate with product specialists, operations, risk, and compliance teams for seamless onboarding and execution of client requests.

  7. Participate in prestige events, seminars, and networking sessions to source new clients and promote the bank’s private banking services.

  8. Monitor customer satisfaction; promptly address queries, concerns, complaints; ensure high quality of after-sales service.

  9. Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for senior management regarding portfolio performance, risk exposure, sales metrics, pipeline of opportunities.

  10. Mentor and coach junior relationship managers or assistants reporting to you.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Commerce / Economics; MBA or relevant postgraduate preferred.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in wealth management/private banking.

  • Strong knowledge of investment products, financial markets, credit, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Analytical mindset; ability to evaluate financial statements, perform valuations, understand risk.

  • Good network in HNI community; ability to generate leads.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, portfolio management tools, MS Office.
