Job Description
Purpose
To lead the growth of bank’s business at the branch level through business development, smooth flow of banking operations and transactions, revenue generation, profit maximization, cost management and customer acquisition and retention.
Overall Branch Management
1. Ensure overall branch profitability and performance against defined financial metrics in the
branch scorecard.
2. Ensure proper distribution of functional responsibilities with clear allocation of authority to
Branch Operations Executive, Officers and Teller staff keeping in view their abilities, performance and past experience, workload etc.
3. Manage Public Relations & liaison with authorities for day-to-day branch working and reporting.
4. Oversee maintenance of overall branch ambience as per Head Office/ Zonal Office guidelines
5. Ensure that Suryoday Bank’s policies, guidelines as well as systems & procedures are followed at the Branch.
6. Monitor, control & minimize all types of expenses in the Branch such as telephone, consumption of stationery, computer consumables, electricity and other overheads without sacrificing quality.
Business Development
7. Develop and lead sales, marketing, and business development plan for branch.
8. Ensure implementation of growth strategies to generate sales across core banking products
including loans, current and savings accounts, term deposits and third-party products.
9. Develop the business prospects in the branch vicinity by scouting for avenues to expand
advances portfolio qualitatively & quantitatively.
10. Develop strategies for growth for the Branch including customer relationship measures,
campaigns and local advertising at Suryoday.
11. Build and leverage networks both externally (with customers , potential customers, banking
professionals, subject matter experts etc.) and internally (with Bank personnel across
departments and zones).
12. Liaison with local authorities, government departments, Asset and Liability clients, SME clients, high net worth individuals etc.
13. Track performance of Sales Managers / Relationship Managers in the branch and guide/mentor them.
Customer Service & Operations
14. Manage relationships with key Suryoday customers and prospective high net worth customers.
15. Support the Branch Operations Executive in ensuring exceptional customer service to customers and proactively selling of bank products based on the customer needs.
16. Ensure quick resolution of customer issues which are escalated by the Branch staff and take required action.
17. Manage cases of branch personnel not adhering to customer service guidelines (such as
telephone discipline, standard procedures etc.)
18. Monitor customer service related key performance indicators such as customer wait time and customer migration.
Reporting & Compliance
19. Ensure compliance to banking guidelines, quality framework and audit requirements.
20. Ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti- Money Laundering (AML), audit and other regulations in the branch.
21. Support the Branch Operations Executive in dealing with external and internal auditors. Drive follow-up of inspection & audit reports & ensure rectifications as required.
People Management
22. Oversee handling of all staff matters such as maintaining staff files, staff sundry advances, income tax deductions, sanction of leave, leave record management etc.
23. Monitor performance of staff against the defined goals/ metrics and take corrective action wherever required.
24. Ensure that all employees are given adequate exposure in various areas in the branch through appropriate job rotation programs.
25. Ensure development of staff through adequate support to the training set-up including ensuring attendance, nomination of employees based on career path and individual interests, individual training needs and role relevance.
26. Coach and mentor employees to improve their performance and enhance productivity.
27. Ensure that all members of the Branch staff are up to date on all relevant circulars and all
Products.
28. Ensure timely completion of the Performance Appraisal process for all employees in the branch.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in core banking sales with good knowledge of banking products and regulatory requirements in banking.
